A Trip to Birmingham

Brief history
Birmingham is the second most populated city in the United Kingdom after London. It is a social, cultural and economic hub of Midland. Its real growth started in the 18th century when science and technology development cause an economic revolution in this area. In the 20th century, the Watt steam engine was invented here. Its six high standard universities make it largest Higher education centre in the country outside London. It is the fourth most visited city by foreigner visitors.http://www.birmingham.gov.uk/

It was the 18th of October when we plan the visit of Birmingham. After considering different options, travelling by a Virgin train was finalised. This is the best overground train and it's the fastest and most luxurious train. It takes only 1 hr and 25 mins from London to Birmingham city. The starting point is the Euston station in London.

In one and half hour after completing a comfortable journey and enjoying beautiful scenic views, we reached Birmingham. If you are travelling by air you can get a different mode of transportation at the airport, watch this video for guidance.

For travelling by bus you have to take a bus from Victoria bus station in London, it takes 2 hrs and 35 minutes to reach Birmingham. It is advisable please book your seat a day before leaving through this link.

If you are travelling by air and you like to book a hotel for your stay there are so many options available near the airport. Some of the very good and famous Hotels can be a book before arrival for your convenience.

when we get out of the train station we directly enter to the giant shopping mall named Bullring. It is a major shopping mall in central Birmingham. It was started in 1960 and in 2003 it was extended further and till to date, its extensions are in progress, but really it is a huge shopping mall. All most every brand is available here.

After visiting Bullring we went to Green street here you can find tourist from almost every part of the world, this is a most famous place for the tourist because you can find cheap souvenirs and also enjoy street performer in different costume.

we take a short tour of Birmingham city it is totally different than London. It has wide roads beautiful new constructed buildings, low crowded markets.

we stay in the night at my nephew house in Alum rock this was a very peaceful area we enjoyed our stay with good hospitality and tasty food.

Next day we plan to visit the Cadbury world it is one of the most beautiful attractions for tourist and especially for kids. It is a wonderful world of chocolate you can enjoy manufacturing, packing and different models made by chocolate. You have to buy tickets for its visit but it is better you purchase tickets online.

Our next destination was walled, we went there to visit Elan Valley This valley is full of natural beauty especially its dams sites are amazingly beautiful. This part of our trip was so good we enjoyed a lot.
